I saw this book at the book store, I love everything about it, even the way the book is closed, the little thing that I don’t know the name and I am not going to try to explain it because you really have to see it. In Taschen site it is availabe a look through the leafs, just a wee taste!
The first time that I saw Japanese woodblock print it was when I was studying about the Impressionists… Today I learnt their name: Ukiyo-e.
Links to explore and admire this beautiful art, although is not the same as having the book and being able to look at every detail…

Amin Maalouf é um dos meus escritores favoritos! Samarcanda (ISBN 1566562937) foi um livro que devorei e no qual conheci Omar Khayyam, aqui uma tradução portuguesa de Alfredo Braga dos Rubaiyat de Omar Khayyam.
E fiquei curiosa para ouvir os Rubaiyat na belíssima voz de Umm Kulthum…
